Kuala Lumpur: Hai-O Enterprise Bhd announced the 2023 Hai-O Arts & Culture Grants is open for application, to encourage and support Malaysian arts and culture with the view to promote participation by all ethnicities in Malaysia, celebrating the rich diversity in Malaysian arts. The grants closing date is Feb 29 2024 at 24:00.
Hai-O will keep the pledge of holding the Hai-O Arts and Culture Grants annually as part of their corporate social responsibility. The corporation wishes to express their appreciation towards artists for their lifetime contribution which throughout the years have enriched the nation’s diverse culture and contributed to the advancement of society.
The total amount of the annual Hai-O Arts & Culture Grants is fifty thousand ringgits. The Grants consists of the Lifetime Achievement Award which is to be given to distinguished artist who has devoted his/her lifetime to the arts and culture as well as grants ranging from RM 4,000 to RM 10,000 for the following: creating new work in music, dance, theatre, film and virtual art; experimental productions; research and documentation; training; workshops and residencies.
Worth to mention, Datin Marion D’Cruz and Master Mathew Ngau Jau were awarded Winner for Lifetime Achievement Award for the year 2019 & 2022 respectively in appreciation of their dedication and contribution to arts and culture, and the nurturing of young artists.
