KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 — Malaysia’s dedicated 5G operator Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) and telecommunications giant Ericsson have teamed up to offer a free online academic programme for tertiary education students nationwide.
Called the “MY5G Ericsson Malaysia Pioneers Programme”, the course aims to hone Malaysians’ skills to meet the needs of the 21st-century in an increasingly digital world, and starts tomorrow.
“The 42-hour programme consists of three modules which will allow students to understand in detail, the technological functionalities and the applications of digital services.
“Students will be asked to develop a solution from ideation and theoretical prototyping to a fully formed sales pitch.
“Besides that, students will take online assessments within each module, and earn an Ericsson digital badge after completing the assessments,” state-owned DNB said in a statement today.
Its programme director Ahmad Helmi Azhar said that the national 5G network will help lay down the foundation for the digital economy and help drive digital literacy in Malaysia.
He also added that the 5G network will help bridge the digital gap and employment opportunities throughout urban and rural areas.
